It is a tremendous blessing and honor to assist students as they make critical decisions on their journey to reach their educational goals. My desire is to make each student feel comfortable and confident that their decision to attend Belhaven University is indeed the best choice. It is my pleasure to encourage each student to strive to reach their desired objectives in an effort to expand opportunities in their professional, spiritual and educational aspirations.

Having the mindset to further your education is a huge decision. I feel once you have decided to pursue your degree there is nothing that can stop you from achieving that goal. It gives me such excitement to assist students with their educational goals.  My goal is that my passion for education will transfer to potential students making them excited about their education, while motivating them to attain their degree.

Romans 8:28 - And I we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

One of my favorite songs is “Day One” by Matthew West. The first lines of the chorus say, “It’s day one of the rest of my life. It’s Day one of the best of my life.” I love these lyrics because they serve as a constant reminder that each day given is a bright new day. A day for me to be everything the Lord wants me to be. It’s also a day filled with opportunities to help others grow emotionally and spiritually. I want to help students be everything God wants them to be by helping them get a degree in the field that God has called them to.

Joshua 1:9 – Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Nelson Mandela once said that “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.” I am honored to be part of an institution that is raising up world changers. Having been both a “traditional” and online graduate student, I know the challenges that come with working full time, raising a family, being involved in your church and community and earning a degree.  Please know I am ready to assist you in every step of your journey. I will be your cheerleader, encourager, and guide. At Belhaven University, you are not alone and will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue the dreams God has for you, learning from a faculty and curriculum that has a profound integration and commitment to Christ, with all the convenience that technology can provide.

Serving, helping, and encouraging are passions of mine. What better place to exhibit these attributes, than Belhaven University. The Belhaven motto “Serve not to be served” is the way I strive to live my life. God opened the door for me to come to Belhaven and He has blessed me by putting me in a position where I can use these attributes to serve, help, and encourage our students with their educational journey.

I have always had a passion for helping people and I am always looking to pay a kind act forward.  I previously  worked in the Healthcare/ Insurance industry and it was absolutely rewarding to help families navigate through tough times. However, I desired to grow more, which is what ultimately attracted me to higher education. It warms my heart to be a part of an awesome, faith- based team.  Finding new ways to help adult students navigate through college is my goal.  I plan on doing this service with a smile and making it my specialty.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and painting.
